NHAI Revises FASTag Annual Pass Fee to Rs 3,075 from April 2026

NHAI Revises FASTag Annual Pass Fee for 2026-27 Financial Year

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has officially announced a revision in the applicable fee for the FASTag Annual Pass. Starting from April 1, 2026, the annual pass fee will be increased from the current rate of Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075 for the 2026-27 financial year. This adjustment is in accordance with the regulatory framework established under the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008, as confirmed by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.

Impact on Non-Commercial Vehicle Owners

The revised fee structure specifically applies to eligible non-commercial vehicles that are equipped with a valid FASTag. This facility is available at approximately 1,150 fee plazas across the extensive network of National Highways and National Expressways throughout India. The Ministry has noted a significant and growing adoption of the FASTag Annual Pass among private vehicle owners, with the current user base exceeding 56 lakh individuals.

By opting for this annual pass, motorists can eliminate the need for frequent recharges, as it operates on a one-time fee payment. This payment grants validity for one full year or allows for a total of 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever comes first. The Ministry emphasizes that the pass is applicable for all non-commercial vehicles, provided they maintain a valid FASTag, ensuring a seamless and convenient travel experience.

Streamlined Activation Process

The activation process for the FASTag Annual Pass remains highly streamlined to enhance commuter convenience. Once the one-time fee is paid through the Rajmarg Yatra app or the official NHAI website, the annual pass activates within two hours on the existing FASTag linked to the vehicle. This digital integration is designed to ensure a smooth transition to the new fee cycle for the existing 56 lakh users, minimizing any disruptions.

The FASTag Annual Pass was originally launched on August 15, 2025, and the Ministry has observed a substantial response to the initiative since its inception. This high adoption rate underscores the greater convenience and cost-effective travel option that the pass provides to National Highway users across the country, reinforcing its value in modernizing India's road transport infrastructure.
