The Madhya Pradesh government has continued its series of political appointments to various boards and corporations, appointing former Guna-Shivpuri MP KP Yadav as the chairman of the MP Civil Supplies Corporation. This move is seen as part of Yadav's political rehabilitation after he was sidelined following Jyotiraditya Scindia's switch to the BJP.
KP Yadav's Political Journey
Yadav rose to prominence after defeating then Congress heavyweight Jyotiraditya Scindia in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. However, after Scindia joined the BJP in 2020, the party fielded him from the Guna seat in the 2024 general elections, leaving Yadav out of the contest. The latest appointment is viewed as an effort to bring him back into the political fold.
Other Key Appointments
Ramniwas Rawat, who defected from the Congress before the 2024 general election, has been appointed chairman of the MP Forest Development Corporation. Rawat was inducted into the cabinet after joining the BJP but lost the by-election from his traditional Vijaypur seat in Sheopur district, forcing him to resign as forest minister.
- Sanjay Nagaich, a BJP leader from Panna, has been appointed chairman of the MP Warehousing Corporation.
- Sanjeev Kankar has been nominated as vice-chairman of the MP Civil Supplies Corporation.
These appointments are part of the state government's ongoing strategy to reward loyalists and manage political equations within the party.
