Anakapalle Police Arrest Gang, Recover Rs 66 Lakh Gold and Silver

Visakhapatnam: The Anakapalle district police have apprehended a three-member gang that was on the most-wanted list for property offences. The police recovered 450 grams of gold ornaments and 250 grams of silver ornaments from the accused, with a total value exceeding Rs 66 lakh.

Details of the Arrested Individuals

The arrested individuals have been identified as Rongali Prakash (24) and Siriki Vijay Kumar (27), both residents of Pachilavanipalem in K Kotapadu mandal, Anakapalle district, and E Vinay Kumar (28), from Akkayyapalem in Visakhapatnam.

Incident and Investigation

Anakapalli district police chief Tuhin Sinha stated that a property offence was reported at Venkatapuram village under Munagapaka police station limits on May 2. The investigation revealed that a three-member gang was involved. The police managed to nab the gang when the trio, traveling on a bike, attempted to escape during routine vehicular checks near Laxmipuram bus stop. The stolen gold and silver ornaments were recovered from their possession.

During interrogation, the trio confessed to their involvement in property offences under Yelamanchili rural and urban police stations, Rambilli police station, Anakapalle and Sabbavaram police stations in Anakapalle district, as well as S Kota in Vizianagaram and Nadendla in Guntur district. The police stated that the investigation is ongoing to recover more stolen property from the gang.
