USCIS H-1B Employer Data Hub Experiences Major Technical Outage

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) H-1B Employer Data Hub, a critical public database used to track companies hiring workers through the H-1B visa program, has gone completely offline. According to reports from The Dallas Express, key search tools and interactive features of the hub have been disabled, making it impossible for users to access or analyze visa sponsorship data.

Critical Search Functions and Recent Datasets Missing

The outage has rendered several essential functions of the database inoperable. The site's search function, which allowed users to find H-1B petitioners by:

  • Fiscal year
  • NAICS code
  • Employer name, city, state, or ZIP code

is no longer available. Additionally, the interactive map feature that displayed the geographic distribution of H-1B employers across the United States has been removed. Perhaps most concerning is that recent datasets from the hub for fiscal years 2024, 2025, and 2026 have gone missing from the downloadable section of the site.

USCIS Issues Apology and Acknowledges Technical Difficulties

A spokesman for USCIS confirmed the technical issues in an email statement to The Dallas Express, saying: "We are aware that our various USCIS Employer Data Hubs are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Our team is actively working to resolve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we work to restore normal service."

The agency first launched the H-1B Employer Data Hub in 2019 as a transparency initiative designed to help users review information about employers participating in the H-1B visa program. This program is frequently utilized by technology companies and other industries to hire non-immigrant employees to work in specialized occupations within the United States.

Archived Content Status Creates Confusion

Adding to the confusion surrounding the outage, affected pages on the data hub are now labeled as "Archived Content," despite showing a note indicating they were "Last Reviewed/Updated: 07/01/2025." It remains unclear when these datasets were moved to archived status or whether this change is directly related to the technical issues currently plaguing the site.

The H-1B Employer Data Hub has served as an important resource for journalists, researchers, policymakers, and job seekers who need to calculate approval and denial rates or review which employers are actively using the H-1B program. The current outage represents a significant disruption to transparency in the immigration system, particularly for a program that has been subject to ongoing policy debates and reforms.

USCIS had previously committed to updating the data hub regularly, making the disappearance of recent fiscal year data particularly noteworthy. The technical difficulties were first noticed late last week, and there is currently no estimated timeline for when full functionality might be restored to this important public resource.
