Melania Trump Documentary Poster Defaced with Hitler Moustache in LA Amid ICE Controversy
Melania Poster Vandalized with Hitler Moustache in LA

In a striking display of political protest, promotional posters for the documentary "Melania" featuring former First Lady Melania Trump have been vandalized with Hitler moustaches across Los Angeles. This act of defacement comes amid heightened tensions surrounding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions, with some bus riders suggesting the vandalism symbolically represents broader discontent.

LA Metro Forced to Reroute Buses Over Vandalism Concerns

Worried that vandals might target actual buses displaying advertisements for the documentary, the Los Angeles Metro transit authority has taken precautionary measures. Metro spokesperson Patrick Chandler confirmed that certain bus routes have been redirected to locations with fewer security concerns.

"Given that Metro buses have experienced significant vandalism and damage during previous periods of heightened public activity," Chandler explained in an emailed statement to the LA Times. "We have made this decision in the interest of protecting our riders, employees, and assets, and out of an abundance of caution."

The transit authority has shifted some buses to areas where they have not observed similar vandalism, demonstrating their proactive approach to maintaining public safety and property integrity.

Bus Riders Express Varied Perspectives on Political Protest

Speaking with Fox 11 LA, several bus riders shared their thoughts on the controversial poster defacement. One rider connected Melania Trump to her husband's policies, specifically mentioning ICE actions, and suggested public dissatisfaction is driving such protests.

"She represents part of what's going on," the rider stated. "If you have, let's say, Hitler's wife and they make a movie about her, I don't think people are going to be happy about her either, even if she didn't do anything wrong. She's related to that guy so, indirectly she's getting all the flack."

Another rider acknowledged understanding the protesters' motivations while questioning their methods. "I understand people disagree with things, but damaging public transport is not the best idea. However, I do definitely understand where they are coming from," the individual remarked, highlighting the complex relationship between political expression and public property protection.

Melania Documentary Premiere Amid Controversy

The "Melania" documentary, which explores the life of the famously private former first lady who maintained a low profile during her husband's second presidential term, premiered on January 29. The event attracted notable figures from the Trump administration, including Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Attendees walked a distinctive black carpet—departing from traditional red carpet events—in front of a large backdrop boldly displaying the word "MELANIA" in stark black-and-white lettering as photographers captured the moment.

The documentary's trailer opens with Inauguration Day in January 2025, showing Melania Trump wearing a navy wide-brimmed hat during ceremonies at the US Capitol. It also portrays her advisory role to the president, including a scene where she encourages him to emphasize themes of being a "peacemaker and unifier" in his inaugural address.

This premiere occurs against a backdrop of political polarization, with the poster vandalism serving as a visible manifestation of ongoing public debates about immigration policies and political legacies.
