Indian-Origin Truck Driver Brutally Assaulted in Melbourne, Police Suspect Targeted Attack

A 42-year-old Indian-origin truck driver faced a brutal assault in Melbourne. Supinder Pal Singh suffered severe injuries in what police now call a possible targeted attack.

Early Morning Ambush Caught on Camera

Surveillance footage captured the violent incident. The attack occurred around 5 am on Catees Street. Singh was walking to his truck when two unidentified men ambushed him.

One attacker knocked Singh to the ground with a single punch. The second attacker joined immediately. Both men then repeatedly kicked and punched Singh until he stopped moving completely.

Family Members Slept Through the Violence

The assault happened while Singh's family members were sleeping inside their home. No one heard any sounds of struggle or violence during the attack.

Singh managed to drag himself to the front door after his attackers fled the scene. Only then did his family become aware of what had happened to him.

Severe Injuries and Hospital Treatment

Medical examinations revealed serious injuries. Singh suffered a fractured skull during the assault. He also sustained a broken nose from the repeated blows.

Doctors are currently treating Singh for these injuries. His condition remains under medical supervision following the violent attack.

Sister Describes Brutal Scene

Supinder's sister, Suman Preet Kaur, described the aftermath of the assault. "There was blood everywhere," she said. "Blood covered the street, the house, and his entire face."

Suman Preet believes the attackers intended to kill her brother. "They made sure before they left," she explained. "They kept kicking him in the head until he stopped moving completely."

Previous Threats and Suspicious Activity

The sister revealed concerning background information. Singh received threats approximately two weeks before the attack. Unknown men had been seen around their residence in the preceding days.

Police have not disclosed whether Singh had any recent disputes with anyone. Investigators are treating the assault as a targeted attack based on current evidence.

Melbourne police continue their investigation into the violent assault. Officers are examining the surveillance footage carefully. They are seeking to identify the two attackers shown in the video.
