ICE Agent Video Reveals Fatal Minneapolis Shooting: JD Vance Defends Officer
ICE Agent Video Shows Fatal Shooting, JD Vance Defends

A newly released cellphone video, recorded by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent Jonathan Ross, has provided a critical, close-range view of the events leading to the fatal shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis. The footage, first published by the conservative outlet Alpha News, was captured on Ross's personal device and has become a central piece of evidence in the heated public debate surrounding the deadly encounter.

JD Vance Defends ICE Agent, Attacks Media Narrative

Vice President JD Vance stepped into the controversy by publicly defending Agent Ross after sharing the video on social media. Vance argued that the footage clearly shows the officer was in genuine danger and accused mainstream media outlets of deliberately misrepresenting the incident to fit a particular narrative.

"If you want to say this woman's death is a tragedy, that we should pray for her soul as Christians and Americans, then I agree with you," Vance wrote on the platform X. "But the media dishonesty about this officer is an all-time moment in shameless press propaganda."

He strongly emphasized the right of law enforcement officers to safety while performing their duties. "Does he have every right to safety while he's doing his job? Yes," Vance stated. He further challenged critics, saying, "If you don't like the immigration policy of the Trump administration, attack me. Leave our law enforcement alone."

Video Details: Confrontation, Commands, and Gunshots

The video begins with Agent Ross positioned in front of a burgundy SUV driven by Renee Good. The vehicle was parked perpendicular to the street, blocking traffic. Ross is seen walking across the front of the SUV toward the driver's side without speaking. Renee Good, with her window down, looks directly at the agent and is heard saying, "That’s fine dude. I’m not mad at you." Ross does not verbally respond.

The situation escalates when Becca Good, the passenger and wife of the driver, confronts Ross aggressively. Holding a cellphone close to his face, she says, "We don’t change our plates every morning, just so you know. This will be the same plate when you come talk to us later." She continues, "You wanna come at us? You wanna come at us? I say go get yourself some lunch, big boy." Becca Good then tries to re-enter the vehicle but finds the door locked.

Moments later, another officer is heard shouting a command at the driver: "Get out of the ... car." The video then shows Renee Good reversing the SUV and turning the steering wheel to the right, away from Ross's position. As the vehicle moves forward, Ross yells "whoa" before three rapid gunshots are heard.

The camera jerks upward toward the sky at this moment, obscuring whether the SUV made direct contact with Ross. However, earlier footage from bystanders suggests the vehicle may have struck or grazed him as it accelerated forward.

Aftermath and Ongoing Investigation

Although the shooting itself is not visible in Ross's video, the chaotic aftermath is captured on audio. The SUV is heard barreling forward and colliding with a parked car, with the sound of the crash echoing through the neighborhood before the camera pans back down toward the street.

Authorities have not yet released a final determination on the critical question of whether the vehicle struck Ross before he fired his weapon. The release of this cellphone video has significantly intensified public debate over key issues including use of force by law enforcement, officer safety protocols, and media coverage of such high-stakes encounters.

No further official statements have been issued by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or Minneapolis authorities as the investigation remains active and ongoing.
