Tragic Electrocution Claims Life of Sudanese Pharmacy Student in Ajmer Hostel
In a heartbreaking incident, a young foreign student from Sudan lost his life to electrocution late on Monday night at his private university hostel in Ajmer. The victim, identified as Mohammed Ilmuntasir, was a 22-year-old second-year Bachelor of Pharmacy student residing in room number 106 of hostel number 2.
Fatal Accident in Bathroom While Heating Water
The tragedy unfolded when Ilmuntasir attempted to heat water using an electric rod in a bucket within his hostel bathroom. According to police reports and accounts from fellow students, a sudden scream alerted others in the vicinity. Rushing to his room, they discovered him unconscious on the floor, a victim of severe electric shock.
Immediate efforts were made to save him, as students quickly transported the unconscious student to the nearby Janana Hospital. Medical staff there, recognizing the severity of his condition, directed them to proceed immediately to the larger JLN Hospital for advanced care. Despite these urgent efforts, doctors at JLN Hospital declared him brought dead upon arrival, confirming that the electrocution had proven fatal.
Post-Mortem and Funeral Arrangements Amid Family Hardship
Following standard procedure, a post-mortem examination was conducted, after which the body was placed in the hospital mortuary. Police authorities have been coordinating with relevant parties, informing both the parents of the deceased student in Sudan and the Sudanese embassy about the tragic incident.
