Tragic Road Accident Claims Two Siblings in Tamil Nadu

In a tragic incident, two siblings from Palakkad lost their lives in a road accident in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, early Monday morning. The deceased were identified as Divya (30), wife of Vineeth of Thekkethil House in Karimpulli near Pattambi, and her younger brother Deepu (28), a native of Panamanna in Ottapalam.

Accident Details

The accident occurred around 1 am when the family was returning to Kerala after a trip to Bengaluru. According to relatives, the eight-member family had started their journey home on Sunday evening in a car. Near Kurubarapalli at Krishnagiri, one of the tyres burst, forcing them to stop by the roadside. After replacing the tyre, as the family members were getting back into the car, a speeding lorry rammed into them. Divya and Deepu died on the spot due to the impact.

Injured and Hospitalized

Divya's husband Vineeth sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment. The other injured include the siblings' parents Ravindran (59) and Parvathy (53), sister Ramya (34), Vineeth's mother Sarojini (68), and Divya and Vineeth's children Abhindev (12) and Akhildev (9). All are receiving medical care.

Emotional Farewell

After postmortem examination, the bodies were brought to their homes on Wednesday. Relatives and residents of Karimpulli bid a tearful goodbye as the siblings were cremated amid emotional scenes. The community has been left in shock by the sudden tragedy.

Authorities have registered a case and are investigating the incident. The lorry driver has been taken into custody.
