Russia has claimed responsibility for a new series of strikes targeting Ukraine's military support infrastructure. According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, operational-tactical aviation, missile forces, artillery units and strike drones were used to hit ammunition depots, fuel storage facilities, transport hubs and energy infrastructure allegedly supporting Ukrainian military operations.
Targeting Long-Range Drone Program
Moscow further stated that the strikes targeted production facilities, storage areas and launch positions connected to Ukraine's long-range drone program. Russian officials also claimed attacks were carried out against temporary deployment sites housing Ukrainian troops and foreign fighters across more than 150 locations.
Shifting Battlefield Dynamics
As the war continues, the contest is no longer confined to trenches and contested towns. It is increasingly being fought over the infrastructure that enables armies to sustain prolonged military operations. The latest strikes underscore Russia's strategy of degrading Ukraine's logistical capabilities to weaken its defense.
