A tragic road accident occurred on Thursday morning near Pipliya Hasnabad village on the Berasia-Nazirabad Road, claiming the lives of a 55-year-old man and his 50-year-old wife, while leaving their seven-year-old granddaughter critically injured. The incident took place when a speeding bus allegedly rammed their motorcycle from behind.
Details of the Incident
The deceased were identified as Saim Khan, 55, and his wife Kallo Bi, 50, residents of Gondipura village. Their granddaughter, Zikra, aged seven, was also riding with them. According to Berasia SHO Virendra Sen, the family was heading towards Berasia when the accident occurred around 10:15 am near a roadside clinic on the Berasia-Nazirabad road.
A bus, allegedly being driven rashly and negligently from the Nazirabad side, hit the motorcycle from behind. The impact threw all three occupants to the ground. Saim Khan and Kallo Bi suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot. The injured child sustained serious head and body injuries and was rushed to Berasia hospital by ambulance.
Police Response and Investigation
Upon receiving a call, Berasia police reached the spot and seized the bus. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the government hospital in Berasia for post-mortem examinations. Acting on a complaint lodged by Abdul Salam, a relative of the deceased who witnessed the incident, police registered a case against the bus driver and launched an investigation.
Police said efforts are underway to trace the driver and ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the accident. The injured granddaughter is currently receiving medical treatment, and her condition is reported to be serious.
