Drone and Missile Assault on US Embassy in Baghdad Reported by Iranian Media
According to a report from the Iranian state broadcaster Press TV, a suicide drone was deployed to target the radar system at the United States embassy in Baghdad. Citing Iraqi sources, the report specified that the mission focused on electronic detection equipment within the diplomatic compound. In a further escalation, a missile strike also reportedly hit the helipad at the embassy, as documented by Al Jazeera. Iraqi officials confirmed that the missile successfully struck the landing area within the compound, indicating a diversified assault on the heavily fortified US mission.
Diplomatic Rhetoric Intensifies as Tehran Takes Firm Stance
This physical attack aligns with sharp diplomatic statements from Tehran. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf asserted that Iran now views the United States and the Israeli regime as indistinguishable due to their actions against the Iranian people. In a statement shared on X, Ghalibaf remarked that former US President Trump was misled by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu into initiating the war and is now acting under his control. He clarified that, in light of what he termed a major crime, Iran no longer makes any distinction between the United States and the Zionist regime.
IRGC Continues Retaliatory Strikes in Ongoing Military Campaign
Ghalibaf's comments come amid intensifying regional conflict, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) continuing its series of retaliatory strikes against American and Israeli installations. The IRGC confirmed the launch of the 48th phase of its Operation True Promise 4, targeting various Israeli and American sites. This offensive was reportedly coordinated with the Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah. Primary targets within occupied territories included areas in northern Israel, such as Galilee, Golan, and the city of Haifa. Additionally, several American bases throughout the region were struck during this phase.
Sophisticated Weaponry Deployed in Recent Waves of Attacks
According to Press TV, the 48th wave utilized a mix of advanced weaponry, including solid-fuel Kheibar Shekan missiles, liquid-fuel Qadr missiles, and attack drones. This follows the earlier 47th wave, which targeted strategic locations like the Negev Desert, including the Nevatim airbase, Be'er Sheva as a technological hub, and the city of Lod. Notably, the IRGC also reported hitting al-Udeid, identified as the United States' most important airbase in the West Asia region, located in Qatar. The operation extended to targeting hiding places of the anti-Iran Komala terrorist group, employing both Kheibar Shekan and Qadr missiles.
Defensive Measures and Psychological Campaigns Escalate
During the 46th wave, the IRGC deployed Khorramshahr, Kheibar Shekan, Emad, and Qadr missiles. The Corps highlighted the psychological impact of the strikes, noting that sirens and scrambles to shelters have become routine for Zionists. Since hostilities began late last month, the IRGC has reportedly deployed hundreds of ballistic and hypersonic missiles along with attack drones. On the defensive front, the Corps claimed to have downed five invading aircraft on Friday, including Orbiter 4, Hermes, and MQ-9 Reaper drones. Military records cited by state media indicate that 114 reconnaissance and combat drones have been neutralized by Iran's advanced air defense systems since the start of the aggression.
Warning Messages Sent to Occupied Territories
In a further escalation of the psychological campaign, the IRGC has reportedly begun sending Hebrew text messages to residents within the occupied territories. The warning message stated, By the permission of God, we will bring upon you days of darkness in which you will wish for death, but you will not find it. This underscores the ongoing intensity of the conflict as Iran maintains its firm position, with the Speaker declaring that the war will continue until the enemy's calculus is altered and they are driven to regret.
