Ahmedabad has witnessed a remarkable weather pattern with the city recording its third consecutive day of a 19°C minimum temperature on Tuesday. The mercury settled at 19.2°C, which represents a significant deviation of 5.8 degrees above the normal seasonal average for this time of year.
Temperature Trends and IMD Forecast
While the minimum temperature showed this substantial increase, the maximum temperature reached 30.1°C, registering 0.8 degrees higher than the normal range. According to the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), similar conditions are expected to persist on Wednesday with the minimum temperature likely to hover around 19°C.
Weather Systems Influencing the Region
The IMD bulletin has identified specific meteorological factors contributing to these temperature patterns. A Western Disturbance, visible as a cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan and adjoining Punjab regions, persisted with a trough formation on Tuesday. This weather system is playing a crucial role in maintaining the current temperature regime across the region.
Statewide Temperature Patterns
The IMD forecast indicates that there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures across Gujarat state over the next seven days. This prediction suggests the current weather pattern will maintain its consistency throughout the coming week.
Across various locations in Gujarat, minimum temperatures remained notably above 10°C. Among the recorded readings:
- Naliya registered the lowest minimum temperature at 12°C
- Kandla recorded 14.8°C
- Rajkot measured 15.4°C
These readings demonstrate that while Ahmedabad experienced particularly elevated temperatures, the entire state is experiencing warmer than usual minimum temperatures during this period. The consistent pattern across multiple days and locations suggests a broader meteorological phenomenon affecting the region rather than isolated weather events.
