Union Minister V. Somanna has announced that the Tumakuru-Chitradurga-Davangere railway line is expected to be completed and opened for operations by 2028. The announcement was made during a review meeting of railway projects in the region.

The minister emphasized that the central government is committed to modernizing railway infrastructure in Karnataka.
The Tumakuru-Chitradurga-Davangere rail line is part of a broader plan to expand the rail network in the state.
