NEC Members Inspect Language Project in Arunachal

Itanagar: Members of the North Eastern Council (NEC) from Shillong, Tenzing Norbu Thongdok and Longki Phangcho, conducted an inspection of the ongoing NEC-funded project in Roing, located in the Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh, on Sunday.

Project Inspection Details

Accompanied by former Chief Minister Mukut Mithi, the NEC members examined the 'Promotion and Literary Development of Mother Languages of Arunachal Pradesh' initiative. This project is being implemented by the Research Institute of World's Ancient Traditions, Cultures and Heritage (RIWATCH) at Khinjili, according to an official report.

Significance of the Initiative

The project aims to preserve and promote the linguistic diversity of Arunachal Pradesh, which is home to numerous indigenous languages. By supporting literary development in mother tongues, the initiative seeks to strengthen cultural heritage and identity among local communities.
