India and Trinidad and Tobago have strengthened their bilateral ties with the signing of eight Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during External Affairs Minister S. EAM Jaishankar expressed his honor in traveling with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to Nelson Island, the historic landing site of the Girmitiyas (indentured laborers) who arrived from India centuries ago. He shared his experience on social media, highlighting the cultural and historical ties between the two nations.
