A 27-year-old research scholar from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee was found dead in Haridwar on Tuesday, after being reported missing for three to four days. The deceased has been identified as a PhD student in the Department of Hydrology.

The scholar had gone missing from the IIT Roorkee campus on Saturday. After failing to locate him, his family filed a missing person report with the police. A search operation was launched, and his body was discovered near the banks of the Ganga river in Haridwar, approximately 30 kilometers from the campus.
