DPU Pune 17th Convocation on May 9, Scindia Chief Guest

Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (DPU), located in Pimpri, Pune, is set to host its 17th Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, May 9, at 3:30 pm in the university auditorium. The event will feature Union Minister for Communications and Minister for Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, as the chief guest.

Presiding Officials and Honorary Degrees

The ceremony will be presided over by P. D. Patil, Chancellor of the university. During the convocation, Honorary Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degrees will be conferred upon two distinguished individuals: Dr. (Brig) Amarjeet Singh, a retired Brigadier who served as Officiating Vice Chancellor and former Dean, and Dr. A. L. Kakrani, an eminent Professor and Director of Academic Collaboration. These honors recognize their outstanding contributions in their respective fields.

Awards and Degree Distribution

A total of 31 meritorious students will be awarded gold medals for their exceptional academic performance. In a significant milestone, 18,719 graduates will receive their degrees across various faculties. This includes 47 Ph.D. recipients, 16,728 postgraduate degree holders, 1,944 undergraduate graduates, and 15 diploma recipients. The convocation underscores DPU's commitment to advancing education and honoring academic excellence.
