Seema Kaliraman, a research scholar at Chaudhary Bansi Lal University (CBLU) in Bhiwani, has qualified for the Asian Games 2026 in the discus throw event. The university spokesperson confirmed her qualification, highlighting her achievement as a significant milestone for both the institution and the region.
Academic and Athletic Pursuits
Seema is pursuing a PhD from the Department of Physical Education at CBLU. Her research focuses on 'Imagery and Positive Self-Talk Training on Athletic Performance,' combining her academic interests with her sporting career. She recently won a gold medal at the South Asian Senior Athletics Championship in Ranchi, further establishing her credentials on the international stage.
Season-Best Performance
Her best throw of the season was 57.18 metres at the National Inter-State Athletics Meet in Chennai. This performance not only secured her qualification for the Asian Games but also demonstrated her remarkable comeback after a serious knee injury that sidelined her for over three years.
