Battery and Performance

The 75kWh lithium-ion battery pack powers a single electric motor mounted on the front axle, producing 200bhp and 350Nm of torque. Tata claims a 0-100km/h sprint in 8.5 seconds. The battery supports fast charging: 10-80% in 56 minutes using a 150kW DC charger. A standard 7.2kW AC charger takes 8.5 hours for a full charge.

Range and Efficiency

Tata certifies the Sierra EV with an ARAI-claimed range of 665km. Real-world range is expected to be around 550km under mixed driving conditions. The SUV also features regenerative braking with multiple levels of regeneration.

Safety and ADAS

The Sierra EV comes with six airbags, electronic stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system as standard. Higher trims add Level 2 ADAS features including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking.

Competition and Market Position

The Sierra EV competes with the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, and the upcoming Mahindra XUV400 EV. According to Tata Motors, the Sierra EV has received over 10,000 bookings within the first week of launch. Tata Motors' Managing Director, Shailesh Chandra, said, "The Sierra EV is a tribute to the iconic Sierra, reimagined for the electric age. We are confident it will set new benchmarks in the electric SUV segment."

Warranty and Service

Tata offers an 8-year or 1.6 lakh km warranty on the battery pack, and a 3-year or 1 lakh km standard vehicle warranty. Service intervals are set at 12 months or 15,000 km, with an estimated annual maintenance cost of around Rs 5,000.
