MG Majestor SUV Production Begins in Gujarat, Bookings Open

MG Motor India has announced the commencement of production for the new MG Majestor SUV at its Halol facility in Gujarat. The company has already opened bookings for the vehicle, with interested customers able to reserve the Majestor online or by visiting an authorized MG dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 41,000.

Pre-Booking Benefits

The first 3,000 customers who pre-book the Majestor will receive a complimentary package that includes a five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, five years of roadside assistance, and a five-year labour-free service contract.

Rivals and Pricing

Once launched, the new Majestor will compete with the Toyota Fortuner Legender and is expected to be priced from around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will be available in three variants, with both six- and seven-seat configurations.

Design Highlights

The Majestor features a large Matrix-style grille, flanked by Falcon-inspired daytime running lights and modern split headlamps at the front. The side profile highlights its premium stance with 19-inch alloy wheels, while the rear is marked by new connected LED tail-lights and a sculpted tailgate that carries ‘Morris Garages’ and ‘Majestor’ badging. Other design elements include faux twin exhaust tips, a skid plate, an integrated spoiler, and a rear wiper with a washer.

Colour Options

The SUV is offered in monotone shades such as Metal Black, Pearl White, Concrete Grey, and Metal Ash.

Interior and Features

The Majestor is available in both six- and seven-seat layouts. The six-seater gets individual captain seats in the second row, while the seven-seater features a conventional bench. The dashboard has been completely redesigned with piano-black trim and silver accents. Key features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, MG’s i-Smart 2.0 connected-car technology, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-speaker JBL sound system, electrically adjustable front seats with heating, cooling, and massage functions, three-zone automatic climate control, dual wireless charging pads, a panoramic sunroof, paddle shifters, 64-colour ambient lighting, and a gesture-operated powered tailgate.

Safety Equipment

Safety features include Level 2 ADAS such as adaptive cruise control, collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure warning with prevention, and blind-spot monitoring. Standard safety equipment also includes electronic stability control, hill-hold and hill-descent control, ISOFIX mounts, a surround-view camera system, and six airbags.

Engine and Performance

The Majestor is powered by a single 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215 hp, paired with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. The SUV features a 4x4 system with MG’s all-terrain management software called M-Hub, offering up to 10 selectable terrain and drive modes. It also includes a crawl mode (M-Crawl) and three differential locks. The maximum water-wading capacity is 810 mm.
