Fire Breaks Out at Scientific Equipment Company in Nagpur

A major fire erupted in the laboratory and chemical storage room of Central Scientific Company, a scientific equipment firm located at Kachipura in Nagpur, on Saturday afternoon. The blaze resulted in an estimated loss of Rs80 lakh, but no injuries or casualties were reported, according to fire officials.

The Civil Lines fire station received an emergency call at 12:21 pm, alerting authorities about the fire at the G+2 building. Two fire tenders were dispatched immediately to the scene.

Firefighting Operations and Damage Assessment

The firefighting team arrived promptly and began operations to contain the blaze. Officials stated that the flames engulfed the laboratory and chemical storage section of the establishment. Several items were damaged, including electrical equipment, two computers, three air-conditioning units, and medical materials stored on the premises.

Sanjiv Arora, the owner of Central Scientific Company, estimated the loss at around Rs80 lakh. Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze using a single water line, preventing the fire from spreading to other parts of the building. Officials estimated that property worth nearly Rs1.5 crore was saved due to the timely intervention of the fire brigade.

Fire Contained in Two Hours

The fire was brought under control within approximately two hours. No further details about the cause of the fire have been released. The quick response prevented a potentially larger disaster, protecting adjacent areas of the building and nearby structures.
