Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift Spotted Testing in India with Major Updates

Maruti Suzuki India is gearing up to launch the updated Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift in the Indian automotive market. The second-generation Brezza, which debuted in 2022, is now poised for a significant mid-lifecycle refresh after a few years on the roads. The upcoming facelift is anticipated to bring noticeable alterations to the design, feature lineup, and potentially the mechanical configuration. The SUV has been captured testing numerous times on Indian roads, appearing in a near production-ready form. Ahead of its official unveiling, here is a comprehensive overview of all the details known so far.

Exterior Design Overhaul

While the overall silhouette of the Brezza will remain unchanged, the facelift is expected to undergo an extensive design revamp at both the front and rear sections. Key exterior updates include a redesigned front bumper paired with a new grille, with similar modifications likely at the rear. However, connected tail lamps, a feature increasingly common in new models, are not anticipated to be part of this update. Other exterior highlights will feature newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels, an integrated spoiler, sleek LED headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs), roof rails, and additional styling elements.

Interior Upgrades and Features

Inside the cabin, the overall interior layout will stay the same, but it will receive minor tweaks such as a redesigned console and new upholstery. Spy images suggest that the facelifted model will boast a larger touchscreen infotainment system. Expected features include:

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity
  • Advanced connected car technology
  • Wireless charging capability
  • Premium sound system
  • Heads-up display for enhanced driving convenience
  • Cruise control for long-distance comfort
  • Automatic climate control system
  • Ambient lighting to elevate the cabin ambiance
  • Single-pane electric sunroof
  • Ventilated front seats for improved comfort

Mechanical and Powertrain Updates

Mechanically, the Brezza is expected to receive minor suspension tuning aimed at enhancing comfort and handling dynamics. Recent spy shots have revealed the new Brezza equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This addition does not necessarily indicate a brand-new engine, such as a turbo-petrol unit, but rather the extra gear is likely intended to improve gear ratios, making highway driving more effortless and potentially boosting fuel efficiency. Simultaneously, there is speculation that the SUV could also adopt the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine currently available in the Fronx model, though no official confirmation has been provided yet.

The facelift is expected to continue with the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 103 PS of power and 137 Nm of torque. Alongside the anticipated 6-speed manual transmission, the 6-speed torque converter automatic is likely to be retained. Additionally, the CNG variants of the Brezza are expected to feature an underbody CNG tank, similar to the setup seen in the Victoris model, enhancing practicality and fuel options for consumers.
