A police team led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Vaibhav Sahgil and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime) Murad Jasvir Singh Gill made the arrest. They apprehended the co-accused in a case originally registered on June 24, 2024.

The accused and his accomplice allegedly took Rs 20 lakh from a person. They promised to provide the agency of a popular food retail company. This false promise convinced the victim to transfer the substantial amount.

Tracking and Arrest Operation
The Cyber Crime Police Station of Ludhiana Commissionerate traced the accused to Central Jail in Nevada, Bihar. Officers brought him to Ludhiana on January 12, 2026. They used a production warrant for this purpose before formally arresting him.

Current Status and Investigation
Officials confirmed the accused has been remanded in police custody until January 15, 2026. During interrogation, he reportedly made further disclosures related to the case.
