AIIMS Patna Conducts Cybersecurity Awareness Initiative

Healthcare institutions must follow regulations under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the newer Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023. The program addressed these legal frameworks in detail.

Professor (Brig.) Dr Raju Agarwal, the executive director of AIIMS Patna, welcomed all participants. He underscored the growing significance of cyber awareness in the healthcare sector. Dr Agarwal pointed to the rapid digitalization of medical records and healthcare services as a key reason for this focus.
Other senior officials also shared their perspectives during the event. Medical superintendent Dr Anup Kumar spoke about the critical need for cybersecurity to safeguard patients' sensitive data. Saket Jha from CDAC Patna also addressed the gathering. He spoke on the topic 'Securing the future: building cyber resilience in the digital age'. His presentation offered forward-looking strategies for healthcare institutions.
