Minnesota Vikings Urged to Sign DeAndre Hopkins for 2026 Season
Vikings Urged to Sign DeAndre Hopkins

The Minnesota Vikings experienced a challenging season on the field last year, following an impressive 2024 campaign. After posting a 14-3 record in 2024, the Vikings managed only 9 wins and 8 losses in the previous season. As the new season approaches, the team is focused on strengthening its roster.

Vikings Encouraged to Pursue DeAndre Hopkins

According to a recent report from CBS Sports' Jordan Dajani, the Minnesota Vikings have been urged to consider signing veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins, now 35 years old, is a former star for the Baltimore Ravens. Dajani noted that the Vikings have a new quarterback in Kyler Murray, with whom Hopkins shares a strong familiarity. The duo spent three seasons together with the Arizona Cardinals from 2020 to 2022.

Dajani highlighted Hopkins' first season in Arizona as one of his best, where he recorded 115 receptions for 1,407 yards and six touchdowns. He added that the Vikings already boast a talented wide receiver corps led by Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Adding a WR3 like Hopkins, who has established chemistry with Murray, would be an ideal move.

Hopkins' Recent Performance and Transition

DeAndre Hopkins has experienced an interesting transitional phase over the past few seasons. In the 2024 season, he began with the Tennessee Titans, recording 15 receptions for 173 yards and a touchdown across six games. He was then traded to the Kansas City Chiefs mid-season, where he transitioned to a secondary role. He finished that season with 56 receptions, 610 yards, and five touchdowns in 16 games.

In the most recent season, Hopkins signed a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens, but his performance saw a slight decline. He finished the 2025 season with 22 receptions, 330 yards, and two touchdowns in 17 games. Despite this, many observers believe he could return to the Ravens.

The Minnesota Vikings have yet to respond to trade talks regarding Hopkins. For now, all eyes are on where the veteran wide receiver will end up next.
