In a significant development for the healthcare sector in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Mahayogi Gorakhnath University (MGUG) has entered into a strategic tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharana Pratap Institute of Technology (MPIT) and the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida. This collaboration is specifically designed to promote artificial intelligence-based healthcare services and drive innovation across the Purvanchal region.

The MoU signing ceremony was conducted at the premises of Mahayogi Gorakhnath University in Gorakhpur, with Vice-Chancellor Surinder Singh presiding over the event. The formal agreement was executed by Registrar Pradeep Kumar on behalf of MGUG, alongside Director Sudhir Agrawal representing MPIT, and Rahul Singh Amritraj, the Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Medical Innovation at GIMS.

Strategic Objectives and Collaborative Framework

During the meeting, representatives from all three institutions engaged in detailed discussions to outline their plans. The primary focus is on establishing AI-enabled clinics and encouraging the growth of innovation-driven startups in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Under the terms of the collaboration:

  • MPIT's Centres of Excellence will deliver comprehensive technical support. This includes access to advanced artificial intelligence infrastructure, which has been developed with corporate social responsibility support from Tata Consultancy Services, and high-performance computing facilities powered by Nvidia-based graphics processing systems.
  • MGUG will contribute academic and research expertise specifically within the healthcare domain, ensuring that the initiatives are grounded in rigorous scientific inquiry and educational excellence.
  • The Centre for Medical Innovation at GIMS will play a pivotal role in facilitating innovation and assisting in the development of an AI-based clinical ecosystem, bridging the gap between technological advancements and practical medical applications.
