Prayagraj: In a significant initiative aimed at advancing healthcare innovation, medical research, and technology-driven entrepreneurship, the Innovation and Incubation Hub MNNIT Foundation (IIHMF), Prayagraj, and the Centre for Medical Innovation (CMI), Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at GIMS, Greater Noida recently.
Collaboration Framework
The partnership aims to establish a collaborative framework for research, innovation, and technology development in healthcare, medical devices, biotechnology, assistive technologies, and allied sectors. The collaboration will facilitate clinical validation, translational research, startup incubation, mentoring support, and commercialization of innovative healthcare solutions.
Key Objectives
Director of IIHMF, Prof Ravi Prakash Tewari, said that the collaboration would create new opportunities for innovators, researchers, and startups working in the healthcare sector. He emphasized that MNNIT’s technological expertise and GIMS’s clinical excellence would accelerate the development of impactful healthcare solutions.
Dr. (Brig.) Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Director of GIMS, noted that the partnership would strengthen translational research and facilitate the development of innovative healthcare technologies for public benefit.
Planned Activities
Under the MoU, both institutions will jointly undertake activities including:
- Identification and development of innovative healthcare and biomedical technologies
- Clinical trials and pilot studies
- Startup co-incubation
- Innovation challenges, workshops, training programmes, seminars
- Student internships
- Entrepreneurship development initiatives
The partnership will also encourage joint submissions for government grants, sponsored research projects, and innovation-focused schemes. This collaboration is expected to significantly boost the healthcare innovation ecosystem in the region.
