Government Engineering College (GEC), Bhojpur, marked a significant academic milestone on Monday by inaugurating a six-day faculty development programme (FDP) focused on AI-driven teaching. This initiative is being conducted in collaboration with the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC) at IIT Patna and is sponsored by the Ministry of Education.
Programme Focus and Participation
The programme is designed to cover AI-driven MOOC content creation, e-content development, and research methodology. According to Amritanshu Raushan, media coordinator at GEC Bhojpur, more than 850 participants from across the country have registered for the FDP, highlighting its national reach and relevance in the current educational landscape.
Inaugural Session Highlights
The inaugural session commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting. IIT Patna Director T N Singh joined virtually as the chief guest, while GEC Bhojpur Principal Pankaj Kumar Srivastav presided over the event. Addressing the participants, Singh emphasized that education remains the foundation of national development and that artificial intelligence has become an integral part of future education. He urged teachers to prepare themselves for this transformative shift.
Programme Coordinator Sanjay Kumar Parida outlined the objectives of the MMTTC and later delivered a technical lecture on the process of acquiring knowledge. He explained how AI can simplify complex information and improve accessibility for learners.
Participation and Future Plans
The session witnessed active virtual participation from attendees across the country. In his welcome address, Srivastav expressed optimism that the initiative could become a milestone for engineering institutions in Bihar. IIT Patna Coordinator Saurabh Kumar Pandey also outlined the programme structure and acknowledged the organizing team at GEC Bhojpur. The FDP will continue until May 9, 2026.
