The race results echo comments made by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who has identified China as Tesla's most formidable competitor in the AI and robotics arena. During an earnings call last year, Musk emphasized China's strengths in scaling, manufacturing, and AI development.

I think China will be by far the biggest competitor in the humanoid robot market, Musk stated. China is extremely good at scaling and manufacturing and is also strong in AI—the models being released there are already quite good and are improving rapidly.

This event is part of a broader trend showcasing China's advancements in robotics. Earlier this year, the annual CCTV Spring Festival Gala, a major cultural event comparable to the US Super Bowl, featured humanoid robots from four domestic startups: Unitree Robotics, Galbot, Noetix, and MagicLab. These robots performed martial arts and fight sequences alongside human child performers, demonstrating their agility and integration into entertainment.
