The Andhra Pradesh government has made a strategic decision to integrate a global quantum biofoundry into the Amaravati Quantum Valley framework. This move aims to propel future advancements in the life sciences sector. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has set a clear objective to establish Andhra Pradesh as a central hub for quantum technologies.
Transforming Healthcare with Quantum Power
The new biofoundry will enable scientific discoveries that traditional computing systems cannot achieve. It focuses on several critical areas. Nearly twenty thousand students from 137 colleges have participated in quantum hackathons in recent months. Faculty development is also a priority, with 1,056 members undergoing specialised training.

The Amaravati Quantum Valley initiative, announced by Chief Minister Naidu in May 2025, has taken concrete shape within just nine months. An IBM 133-qubit quantum system two is scheduled for installation in Amaravati this September. Andhra Pradesh holds the distinction of being the first Indian state to implement a dedicated quantum policy.
More than sixty national and international companies are now associated with the program. Operations at India's first quantum reference facility will commence in April. The government has already signed strategic agreements with various global institutions to support these efforts.
