In a significant technological advancement for wildlife conservation in Madhya Pradesh, authorities at the Pench Tiger Reserve (PTR) have launched an innovative AI-powered monitoring system. This sophisticated platform is specifically engineered to deliver real-time alerts regarding the movement of tigers, leopards, and humans in the sensitive zones near forest boundaries.

Officials emphasize that the primary objective of this initiative is to proactively prevent human-wildlife conflicts. Pench, one of central India's most celebrated protected areas and the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling's 'The Jungle Book', encompasses 1,179 square kilometers across the Seoni and Chhindwara districts. "When animals like tigers approach village boundaries, the system triggers immediate alerts to our personnel," officials stated. "This enables rapid response teams to promptly warn local residents and implement safety measures to prevent dangerous encounters."
The platform also possesses advanced capabilities for identifying species involved in conflict incidents. By cross-referencing camera-trap images with reported complaints, authorities can accurately track the movements of specific animals that may be causing issues, allowing for more targeted management strategies.

Alerts from the PAWS system are disseminated through multiple channels to ensure maximum responsiveness:
