AI Ignite 2K26 Techfest in Dhanuvachapuram Concludes

The inaugural technology festival of the IHRD College in Dhanuvachapuram successfully wrapped up on Sunday, marking a significant step in bringing conversations about artificial intelligence to the grassroots level. Titled 'AI Ignite 2K26', the event was designed to demystify AI for the local community in the Kollayil grama panchayat, exploring both its vast potential and the challenges it presents.

Leadership and Inauguration

The valedictory ceremony was chaired by the president of the grama panchayat, Ambika K Parassala. The event itself was formally inaugurated by MLA C K Hareendran, who commended the college administration for launching a timely and meaningful dialogue on one of the most discussed technologies of our era. The MLA underscored the importance of such community-focused educational initiatives and promised his ongoing support for similar future endeavours.

Widespread Participation in AI Competitions

A core and highly successful component of the techfest was a series of AI-based competitions extended to schools. These contests reached out to 16 different schools, attracting an impressive total of 738 student participants. The fest served as a platform for young minds to engage creatively with AI concepts, fostering early interest and understanding.

Recognising Young Talent

The festival concluded on a celebratory note, with the recognition of outstanding performers. A total of 122 winners from the various competitions were honoured with certificates and mementos during the valedictory function. This recognition aimed to encourage the participants to continue their exploration of technology and innovation.

By bridging the gap between advanced technological discourse and the local community, AI Ignite 2K26 has set a precedent for educational institutions in the region. The event's success, evidenced by the large-scale participation, highlights a growing appetite for tech literacy and positions the IHRD College, Dhanuvachapuram, as a proactive player in shaping the future conversation around artificial intelligence in Kerala.
