Divisional forest officer (DFO) of the Gaya forest division, Shashi Kant, stated on Sunday, "Ranger Kuldeep Chouhan, leading the search operation, has been directed to lodge an FIR in this connection. Action will be taken against the culprit as per norms." Ranger Arvind Kumar Pandey provided an update, saying, "A team has been following the tusker, and by Sunday evening, it had shifted to Sherghati. So far, no harm to human, cattle, or pet animals by the tusker has been reported. The elephant too is safe."
