Woman's WhatsApp Status Saves Her Life After Family Alert
WhatsApp Status Saves Woman's Life After Family Alert

A 45-year-old woman in Ahmedabad's Naroda Hanspura area, who runs a small business, was brought back from the brink of suicide after her son noticed her despairing WhatsApp status and alerted the police. The incident unfolded following a minor argument with her husband over preparing food.

The Distress Signal

Though the dispute was small, the emotional weight became unbearable. Before leaving home, the woman posted what she believed were her final words as her WhatsApp status: "Sorry everyone ND goodbye". She also wrote a personal message for her son: "Bye beta miss u, khush rehje, mane maaf karje" (Goodbye, son. I'll miss you. Stay happy. Forgive me).

Son's Quick Action

Her son, reading the message, immediately sensed the gravity of the situation. Without hesitation, he called his father and then the police control room. The Naroda police swiftly responded, using technical surveillance to trace her mobile signal, which was still active. They tracked her first to the Khodiyar temple, then to another temple in the area.

Rescue and Recovery

Officers and family rushed to the location, finding her alone but alive. Upon seeing her son approach, the woman fainted. She was taken to the hospital, where she regained consciousness with her family by her side. Police provided counseling before she returned home.

Police Inspector C V Nayak stated, "It was the woman's son who informed the control room that she had left home after posting a WhatsApp status that made him worry. The cops found that her mobile was active. Through technical surveillance, they traced the woman's location." He emphasized that the son's alertness made all the difference in preventing a tragedy.
