In a significant crackdown on illegal tobacco trade, Talegaon police in Wardha district seized a large consignment of scented tobacco valued at approximately Rs 9 lakh during a routine check on National Highway No. 6. The police intercepted a four-wheeler and, upon searching the vehicle, discovered a substantial quantity of scented tobacco from various companies. The entire stock, along with the vehicle, was confiscated.

Police officials stated that the vehicle was flagged down for inspection, and during the search, the hidden tobacco packets were found. The estimated market value of the seized tobacco is around Rs 9 lakh. The police have registered a case against two individuals from Amravati district under multiple sections of the law. Both suspects have been taken into custody.
