Verka Launches Smart Vending Machines for Milkfed Products

In a significant move to modernize dairy product retail, Verka, the flagship brand of Punjab's Milkfed, has launched smart vending machines across the state. The initiative began with the installation of two machines, named Veera and Guddi, in Amritsar. These machines are designed to dispense a variety of Milkfed products, including fresh milk, curd, buttermilk, and lassi, providing consumers with convenient access around the clock.

Smart Vending Machines: A Technological Leap

The smart vending machines are equipped with advanced technology to ensure product freshness and quality. They maintain optimal temperature conditions, and users can make payments through digital modes such as UPI, credit/debit cards, and mobile wallets. This aligns with the government's push for a cashless economy and digital transactions. The machines also feature a user-friendly interface, making it easy for customers to select and purchase their desired items.

Benefits for Consumers and Farmers

For consumers, the vending machines offer the convenience of accessing fresh dairy products at any time, reducing the need to visit traditional retail outlets. For Milkfed and the dairy farmers of Punjab, this initiative expands the distribution network, potentially increasing sales and reducing wastage. The machines are expected to be placed in high-footfall areas such as markets, hospitals, and educational institutions, ensuring maximum reach.

Expansion Plans

Encouraged by the initial response, Milkfed plans to deploy more such machines in other cities across Punjab, including Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Patiala. The organization is also exploring the inclusion of other products like paneer and flavored milk in the vending machine portfolio. This step is part of a broader strategy to leverage technology for better market penetration and customer engagement.

Milkfed's Managing Director, while inaugurating the machines, emphasized that this move would not only benefit consumers but also strengthen the dairy cooperative movement in the state. He highlighted that the smart vending machines are a testament to Milkfed's commitment to innovation and quality.

The launch of Veera and Guddi marks a new chapter in Punjab's dairy sector, blending tradition with modernity. As the machines become operational, they are expected to set a benchmark for other dairy cooperatives across the country to follow.
