Mumbai Woman Files Complaint Against Ex-Boyfriend for Morphed Images

A 25-year-old woman from Malwani, Mumbai, has lodged a complaint with the Malwani Police against her former boyfriend for allegedly morphing photographs of her mother and sister with obscene content and distributing them via social media to her family and relatives. The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused on charges of defamation and intimidation.

Background of the case

The complainant resides in Malwani with her parents and siblings. In May 2025, she met a man named Arif on Instagram. They began chatting regularly and eventually entered into a romantic relationship. In January 2026, the couple traveled to Hyderabad for an outing. According to the complainant, during this trip, Arif obtained photographs of her mother and sister from her phone, as well as the contact numbers of all her family members.

Deterioration of relationship

After returning to Mumbai, the relationship between the two soured. They began having frequent arguments and altercations. The complainant later discovered that Arif had morphed images of her mother and sister with obscene content and was circulating them on social media platforms among her family and relatives. Distressed by this act, she approached the police to seek legal action.
