The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has officially released the schedule for the second attempt of the MHT-CET for the 2026–27 academic year. According to a statement issued by the state CET Cell, the examinations will be conducted from May 9 to May 21, with a total of 4,92,383 students expected to appear.
Exam Streams and Candidate Numbers
The second attempt encompasses several streams, including MBA/MMS, Engineering (PCM), Pharmacy, and Agriculture (PCB). As per the schedule, the MBA/MMS CET will be held on May 9 for 53,931 candidates. The PCB group exam is scheduled for May 10 and 11, with 1,16,538 students participating. The PCM group exam will take place from May 12 to May 21, excluding May 16 and 17, and will involve 3,21,914 candidates.
First Attempt Attendance Statistics
In the first attempt, a total of 8,96,236 students had registered, out of which 8,33,482 appeared, resulting in an attendance rate of 92.99%. Notably, 62,754 students were absent from the first attempt.
Introduction of Two Attempts
This year marks a significant change as the CET Cell has introduced two attempts for these entrance exams for the first time, following the model of the national-level JEE (Main). As per directives from Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, students were given the option to appear for one or both attempts while filling out the application form. Appearing for at least one exam is mandatory, while the second attempt is optional. If a candidate appears for both attempts, the higher percentile score will be considered for admission purposes.
Important Notes for Candidates
- Candidates must ensure they have their admit cards ready for the respective dates.
- Those appearing for multiple streams should check the detailed timetable to avoid clashes.
- The higher of the two percentile scores will be used for final admissions if both attempts are taken.
This new system aims to provide students with more flexibility and a better opportunity to improve their scores, similar to the JEE Main pattern. Candidates are advised to stay updated with the official CET Cell website for any further announcements or changes.
