Lenskart has entered the wearable technology market with its first pair of smart glasses, B by Lenskart. The device is now available for early access in India at a price of Rs 22,000, while the commercial launch price is set at Rs 27,000. The frame weighs just 40 grams, making it lighter than most existing smart glasses, and houses a 12 MP Sony camera capable of shooting 4K stills and HD video.
Powerful Hardware and AI Integration
Inside the B smart glasses, Qualcomm's Snapdragon AR1 chip powers the device—the same processor used in Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses. The glasses feature an AI assistant named Buddy, which runs on Google's Gemini platform. Buddy can handle over 40 languages, including Hinglish and several Indian languages, and uses the camera to visually understand what the wearer is looking at before providing answers.
Key Features and Specifications
The hardware is designed for daily use. It includes three microphones, directional speakers with three modes—Discreet, Normal, and Boosted—and Japanese ultra-thin blue light lenses. The charging case extends the battery life to 48 hours, and a clever temple-tip cable allows the glasses to charge from a phone without removing them. An LED indicator lights up whenever the camera is recording, providing the same privacy cue used in Meta's glasses.
The companion app stores media, manages settings, and facilitates conversations with Buddy. The waitlist for the B smart glasses opened on March 31, 2026, and has already crossed 35,000 sign-ups as of May 12.
CEO Statement and Future Plans
Peyush Bansal, Co-Founder and CEO of Lenskart, described the product as the company's first move into wearables. He stated that the plan is to refine the product based on Indian user feedback before expanding globally.
How to Buy
Early access is available on the Lenskart website and app, with the Rs 22,000 price reserved exclusively for waitlist customers.
