Ram Charan Trained 4 Months for Wrestler Role in 'Peddi'

Ram Charan is set to showcase his wrestling prowess in the upcoming film 'Peddi', directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film is scheduled for release on June 4, and the director has revealed that the team collaborated with the same trainer who worked with Aamir Khan in the blockbuster 'Dangal'.

Ram Charan's Intense Training Regimen

According to a report by IANS, Buchi Babu Sana shared in a media interaction that the team paid extra attention to the wrestling sequences to ensure they appeared realistic on screen. The Mega Power Star trained for over four months to prepare for his role. Speaking about the preparation process, the director said, 'Cricket is a game that we all know. But we took special care in the matter of wrestling. We brought in the trainer who coached Aamir Khan in the movie Dangal. We also made wrestlers from Telangana part of the team. We gave special training to all the artists. Ram Charan took special training in wrestling for about three to four months for this movie.'

Shooting Despite Injury

In a conversation with India Today, Ram Charan revealed that he sustained an injury just three or four days before shooting the wrestling scene. He chose to avoid an MRI immediately, fearing the diagnosis would weigh him down. He stated, 'It was one tear, but now it's seven tears because of the 20 days of shoot. I just had to get through the film and wanted it to come on June 4.' Expressing his pride in playing such a character, he added, 'To play a character like that, which is very necessary in a country like India. I feel very proud and fortunate to come across a role like this.'
