Maisie Adam, the sharp-witted British comedian known for appearances on panel shows like '8 Out Of 10 Cats', 'Mock The Week', 'QI', 'Have I Got News For You', and 'Would I Lie To You?', is set to return to the Soccer Aid pitch for a special charity match in 2026. The 32-year-old Yorkshire-born stand-up, celebrated for her captivating stage presence, will mark her third wedding anniversary this year by rejoining the celebrity football event.
A Whirlwind Wedding and Soccer Aid Debut
According to the Daily Record, Maisie Adam will participate in Soccer Aid 2026 as she prepares to celebrate her third wedding anniversary with husband Michael Dobinson. The couple married in June 2023, just 48 hours before Maisie made her Soccer Aid debut at Manchester United's Old Trafford. The wedding took place in Brighton, with the newlyweds sharing a carousel of images on Instagram, including shots on the seafront by the old pier, being showered in confetti, and seated on deckchairs holding her bouquet. The caption read: 'We did it.' Many stars, including fellow comic Katherine Ryan, Suzi Ruffell, Jamie Redknapp, and Izzy Christiansen, congratulated the pair.
The Surreal 48 Hours Between Wedding and Match
Maisie previously recounted the unique timing to various outlets. 'It was the day after my wedding, so I was hungover. For Soccer Aid, you go to the training camp on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday—and I had to leave on Saturday to go get married! We got married in Brighton and then the next day, at 10 o'clock in the morning, a car comes to take you to Old Trafford.' She added, 'It was just such a surreal 48 hours because I got married and then was finding myself on a bus sat next to Nani (the Portuguese footballer) and across from Roberto Carlos and then on the other side there was Lee Mack. I just thought, How have I ended up here?' At the time, Maisie confirmed the news on ITV1's Soccer Aid for Unicef, saying, 'I've watched this as a fan for years and it's a genuinely an honour to finally be part of it. I've been more nervous for this than I was the wedding.'
