Drishti Marine Rescues Man with Suicidal Intent at Calangute

Panaji: Drishti Marine lifesavers successfully rescued a 22-year-old man at Calangute beach after spotting him deliberately wading into deep waters. The Margao resident was observed moving farther from the shore, prompting lifeguards Suraj Sawant and Vinod Lamani to reach him with a rescue tube. While bringing him back safely, the man reportedly expressed suicidal intentions. He was later handed over to local authorities for further assistance.

Additional Rescues and Medical Assistance

In a separate incident, lifeguards provided assistance to a 16-year-old girl from Mumbai who suffered an epileptic episode at Betalbatim beach. She was advised to seek medical attention and was reported to be in stable condition after the incident.

Furthermore, a 24-year-old tourist from Jalna, Maharashtra, was rescued after being caught in a rip current near the shoreline. Lifesavers Ankur Chaudhary and Sujan Nagvekar brought him safely back to shore using a rescue tube and rescue board. The man did not require further medical treatment.
