The 56th edition of the prestigious Senior National Kho Kho Championship has officially commenced, bringing a wave of sporting excitement to Telangana. Grand Inauguration and Distinguished Presence

The championship was launched with great fanfare at the Jana College Grounds in Warangal. The opening ceremony was graced by notable personalities, including the chief guest, Telangana's Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. Adding to the significance of the event, Koneru Humpy, the celebrated Indian chess grandmaster and Padma Shri awardee, was also present as a guest of honour. Their presence underscored the government's and sporting community's support for indigenous games.

Organized by the Telangana Kho Kho Association under the aegis of the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI), the tournament has drawn massive participation. A staggering over 1,400 athletes have converged in Warangal to showcase their speed, agility, and strategic prowess. These competitors represent 35 teams from across the nation, comprising 28 men's teams and 27 women's teams, all vying for the national crown.
