A 17-year-old boy has been detained for allegedly murdering his 18-year-old nephew in Kalyan early Wednesday, following a heated argument over a game of digital Ludo. The incident occurred in the Umbarde Kolivli area, where both victims and suspects worked together at a local dhaba.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, the minor and his nephew, identified as Gokul Bhim Bihari, were employed at the same dhaba alongside two Nepalese nationals. After finishing their dinner, the group decided to unwind by playing Ludo on a mobile phone around 2 am. During the game, Bihari objected to a move made by the minor, sparking a verbal altercation. The argument quickly escalated into a physical fight, prompting the other two co-workers to intervene and calm both parties down. Following the intervention, all four individuals went to sleep.
The Murder
Later that night, the minor woke up and retrieved a knife from the kitchen. He then approached his sleeping nephew and slit his throat. The co-workers, alerted by the commotion, rushed Bihari to a nearby hospital, but medical staff declared him dead upon arrival.

ACP Ashok Honmane confirmed that the minor has been taken into custody and is being questioned.
