Preity Zinta, actor and co-owner of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) team, is ecstatic as the Shreyas Iyer-led squad continues its winning streak in the ongoing IPL 2026 season. On Saturday, PBKS players secured their sixth consecutive victory, achieving the highest successful run chase in T20 cricket history. They defeated the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, chasing down a record target of 265 with seven balls to spare.
Witnessing the thrilling match live from the stands, Preity celebrated the team's win in a spiritual manner. Hours after the match concluded, the 'Dil Se..' actress paid a sacred visit to the Pracheen Hanuman Mandir in Delhi. Several visuals surfaced online showing Preity offering prayers at the temple.
Right after the match, Preity took to Instagram to praise her team's stupendous efforts. She also hailed DC's KL Rahul for his record-breaking knock of 152 runs off 67 balls. With this win, PBKS remain unbeaten with six wins and one no result, giving them 13 points. DC sits at the sixth spot with three wins and four losses, totaling six points. PBKS broke their own record of chasing down 262 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 2024 season. Punjab will next face Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 28.
