BENGALURU: The Special Investigation Squad of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested 23 individuals on Tuesday in connection with alleged illegal betting during the IPL T20 cricket tournament, as reported by news agency PTI.
Raids and Arrests
Police conducted raids at multiple locations across Bengaluru under various police station limits. A total of 17 separate cases related to cricket betting were registered, leading to the detention of 23 accused.
Seized Items
Officials seized seven mobile phones valued at approximately Rs 1.10 lakh, cash amounting to Rs 1,06,433, and betting chips worth nearly Rs 13.37 crore. The total estimated value of the seized items is Rs 13.39 crore.
The operation underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb illegal betting activities during major sporting events.
