Ujjain is set to become a new hub for international hockey with the announcement of a world-class astro turf facility. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav laid the foundation for this and other development works totaling a massive Rs 129 crore on Monday.
A New Sporting Destination for India
Performing the groundbreaking ceremony, CM Yadav declared that a world-class hockey astro turf will be constructed at the Nanakheda Stadium in Ujjain. This modern infrastructure is designed to host international-level hockey matches, putting the historic city on the global sports map. The announcement marks a significant investment in sporting facilities for the region.
Comprehensive Development for a Changing Ujjain
The Chief Minister emphasized that Ujjain is rapidly evolving and touching new dimensions of development. He stated that new development works are being carried out all around the city, attracting famous industrial houses from India and abroad to invest. Looking ahead, Yadav expressed confidence that the upcoming Simhasth in 2028 will be a wonderful and extraordinary event, with all preparations already underway.
He also made a public appeal, urging the citizens of Ujjain to be ready to help and guide the many visitors expected to come to the city for these developments and future events.
Launch of Digital and Educational Initiatives
Beyond sports infrastructure, the event saw the launch of key digital and educational projects. CM Yadav inaugurated Project Swadhyay, an initiative with the theme 'Coding for All' aimed at empowering students with digital skills.
Simultaneously, he unveiled the UtkarshUjjain.com portal, a dedicated digital platform. This portal is designed to connect Ujjain's industries and entrepreneurship ecosystem, focusing on industry, employment, and skill development for the local economy.
The combined initiatives worth Rs 129 crore signal a holistic push to transform Ujjain into a modern city with robust sports, education, and industrial infrastructure, ready for the future.
