Wanderers Club and Chandigarh Hockey Academy shared points after a 3-3 draw in the Chandigarh State Hockey Championship at the Sector 42 Sports Complex on Saturday.
Academy Takes Early Lead
The academy team seized the initiative early, with Prince converting a penalty corner in the fourth minute to give them a 1-0 lead. Prabhjot extended the advantage in the 14th minute with a field goal, making it 2-0.
Club Fights Back
Trailing by two goals, Wanderers Club responded in the 24th minute when Gurjeet found the back of the net. The turning point came in the 37th minute as Dilraj leveled the score at 2-2.
Prince of the academy then scored his second goal of the match via a penalty corner in the 37th minute, restoring the academy's lead at 3-2. However, Rohit struck for the club just four minutes later, in the 41st minute, to make it 3-3. The score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
Other Results
In the women's category, KISCOE, Sector 42, registered a commanding 6-0 victory over SGGS Hockey Club (Blue) on Saturday. Sonali opened the scoring in the third minute, followed by Apram in the fifth minute. Manpreet added a goal in the 17th minute, then scored again in the 37th minute. Sonali netted her second in the 39th minute, and Niharika completed the scoring in the 47th minute.
Chandigarh Hockey Academy, Sector 18, earned a 3-0 win over Rock Rovers Hockey Club (Master Team). Annua (6th minute), Simran (8th minute), and Ratanjeet (37th minute) were the goal scorers for the academy.
Wanderers Club thrashed Sector 42 Hockey Stadium 9-0. Alka was the star with a hat-trick (10th, 38th, and 42nd minutes), while Jyoti (18th and 50th minutes), Rajni (32nd and 58th minutes), Rakhi (49th minute), and Samandeep (60th minute) also found the net.
