Macklin Celebrini continues to etch his name in the record books. The San Jose Sharks prodigy tipped home a Cale Makar blast from the blue line with just 5.7 seconds remaining in the first period, giving Canada a crucial 1-0 lead over Czechia in their Olympic opener at the Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena on Thursday.
The goal established Celebrini as the youngest Canadian NHL player ever to score at the Olympic Games, adding another remarkable achievement to his already impressive resume. The timing proved absolutely perfect. Czechia had managed to keep Canada's star-studded lineup off the scoreboard through nearly twenty minutes of intense play, with goaltender Lukáš Dostál turning aside chance after dangerous chance.

Czechia fought valiantly on defense, but they simply could not withstand Canada's relentless offensive pressure.
